The Angel Stood

Notice:
There is a time for everything. If you have not yet received the material presented in Lines of Truth and/or if you do not yet have a working knowledge of the Final Redemption, Former Rain, and Latter Rain Reform-lines comprising the story of redemption’s end-time Line of Lines, it is probably not time for you to consider the following study.

The waymark corresponding chronologically with the commencement of God’s Investigative Judgment of the Living in the heavenly sanctuary’s Most Holy Place

It is commonly believed by those who are familiar with and accept present truth that the Judgment of the Living commenced on September 11, 2001 when the end-time Former Rain began to be poured out. The following study will show, however, that the inspired writings and the sacred patterns of history indicate otherwise. The primary text used to “prove” that “we are in the Judgment of the Living” clearly does not indicate any such thing. (Click the figure below to enlarge.)

Blotting Out

History and nature of the Investigative Judgment revealed in the inspired writings

At the third Waymark of the Millerite Reform-line (October 22, 1844), the Revelation 10 Angel stood up (LT, p. 273). He then “came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.” Daniel 7:13. “The judgment was set and the books were opened” (vs. 10). The judgment here spoken of is the Investigative Judgment in which the Ancient of days – the Father – presides (GC 479.2). “The only cases considered are those of the professed people of God”… both “the quick and the dead” (GC 480.1 and 1Peter 4:5). “The book of life contains the names of all who have ever entered the service of God” (GC 480.3). Also, “’A book of remembrance’ is written before God, in which are recorded the good deeds… There is also a record of the sins of men” (GC 481.1-2). “Every man’s work passes in review before God and is registered for faithfulness or unfaithfulness” (GC 482.1). “If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1.

“As the books of record are opened in the judgment, the lives of all who have believed on Jesus come in review before God. Beginning with those who first lived upon the earth, our Advocate presents the cases of each successive generation, and closes with the living. Every name is mentioned, every case closely investigated. Names are accepted, names rejected. When any have sins remaining upon the books of record, unrepented of and unforgiven, their names will be blotted out of the book of life, and the record of their good deeds will be erased from the book of God’s remembrance” (GC 483.1).

The above passage in conjunction with Daniel 7:10 strongly indicates that human cases are evaluated in the Investigative Judgment individually – one at a time – so that those finite witnesses ministering nearby may actually witness each divine decision for or against any individual’s eternal security. The order in which the names are investigated in the Judgment appears to be the historical order in which the individuals lived. Thus, the last names to pass beneath the all-seeing Eye of God will be those of the living. “The judgment is now passing in the sanctuary above. For many years this work has been in progress. Soon–none know how soon–it will pass to the cases of the living. In the awful presence of God our lives are to come up in review” (GC 490.1).

“All who have truly repented of sin, and by faith claimed the blood of Christ as their atoning sacrifice, have had pardon entered against their names in the books of heaven; as they have become partakers of the righteousness of Christ, and their characters are found to be in harmony with the law of God, their sins will be blotted out, and they themselves will be accounted worthy of eternal life. The Lord declares, by the prophet Isaiah: ‘I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.’ Isaiah 43:25. Said Jesus: ‘He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.’ ‘Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.’ Revelation 3:5; Matthew 10:32, 33.”  (GC 483.2)

It is important that we do some sanctified reasoning about what we have just learned. The Investigative Judgment considers all those throughout the ages who have professed to be God’s people. The number of this group of individuals must total billions. Names (in historical order) are taken up, evaluated, and either accepted or rejected one at a time so that the “ten thousand times ten thousand” (Daniel 7:10) who are “ministers and witnesses” (GC 479.2) may fully witness. As we are currently living within a generation of the close of human probation – when the Investigative Judgment is to be finished – we know that the total time in which the Judgment is performed is surely less than 200 years. Billions of names evaluated one at a time in a little less than 200 years. Do the math. The Godhead must, on average, be taking up, dealing with, and making the ultimate decision concerning any single name in a matter of seconds.  This means that in the Judgment of the Living, there will be a near perfect time-correspondence between the entire process of judging a name in the Most Holy Place, and that individual’s close of probation (which is characterized by reception of either the Mark of the Beast or the Seal of God depending on the decision made in heaven). Of course, it is well known that no one receives the Mark of the Beast, or attains to the habitual, absolute Christ-dependence called the Seal until after the enactment of the national Sunday Law in the US. It is not before the NSL that God’s people “become partakers of the righteousness of Christ, and their characters are found to be in harmony with the law of God” as is necessary prior to their sins being blotted out (see previous paragraph). Thus it seems only reasonable to suspect that the commencement of the Judgment of the Living corresponds with the going forth of the Sunday decree in the “glorious land.”

Evidence from patterns in sacred history

On August 11, 1840, the message “the hour of his judgment is come” (Revelation 14:7) was empowered, but it wasn’t until the third Waymark of the Millerite Reform-line (October 22, 1844) that Jesus began his work in the Investigative Judgment of the Dead. We know that on September 11, 2001, the present truth message of our day was empowered, and many students of prophecy keenly sensed a terrible significance in the words, “Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary” (Ezekiel 9:6), but I would suggest that it will not be until the third Waymark of the Former Rain Reform-line (NSL), the Reform-line of which the Millerite Reform-line was especially a foreshadowing (LT, p. 260), that Jesus will begin his work in the Investigative Judgment of the Living.

Judgment of the Living III

Judgment of the Living edit

A second, detailed historical pattern verifies that the NSL corresponds with the commencement of the Judgment of the Living. Each of three lamp-light histories below contains at its center, 1) the end/beginning of a dispensation; 2) the beginning of a new church paradigm; and 3) a special manifestation of God’s power.

lamp-histories

Just as the nature of the judgment to begin on October 22, 1844 was misunderstood during the Millerite Reform-line, so also, the nature of the judgment to begin at the enactment of a national Sunday Law in the US has thus-far been misunderstood by modern students and teachers of present truth. The Millerites preached that at the end of the great time prophecies, Jesus would come the second time and judge the world by fire. In actuality, the Investigative Judgment of the Dead began on October 22, 1844. Modern teachers of present truth preach that at the NSL, probation will close on the Seventh-day Adventist Church. I believe that it will soon be more widely recognized that in actuality, the Investigative Judgment of the Living will then commence.
